In order to control and keep our membership details up to date we had requested members to renew their 2024 membership and pay the annual fee by the end of March
This is important for a number of reasons.
It keeps us up to date with contact details thus ensuring that we can keep in touch accurately with members in offering our services.
It is also very important to us financially. We have no other source of income other than a small revenue we get from the sale of some journals.
We need the membership income to keep our heads financially above water.
There are a considerable number of societies who have yet to renew their membership.
We would ask societies who have not yet renewed if they would do so at their earliest convenience.
Any society or individual who have already renewed their membership, Thank you. please ignore this message.
Attached is a membership renewal form and we would appreciate it if you returned it with your remittance as the contact details it contains are important.

We are experiencing trouble with cheques that are not properly filled in and are having in instances to return cheques to the bank, this is frustrating and makes things difficult,
We would ask anyone sending cheques to the Federation to bear this in mind ,
We would appreciate it if you would adhere to the guidelines below ,
This will make it easier for everyone.
FLHS as the payee, will NOT be accepted by AIB Bank –it must be the full title –Federation of Local History Societies.
Amount must be filled in both in writing and in legible figures.
Please write clearly and legibly.

“Notice to all Societies” Time for membership renewal
It is now well into the year and there are a lot of societies who have not yet paid their membership renewal fee.
Like we have emphasised before we depend almost entirely on our membership subscriptions for our financial survival.!!! “it is as simple as that”
The only other small income we have is from our Journal sales,
We need this income to survive so we ask societies to please check if the affiliation fee has been paid as this can genuinely sometimes fall between the chairs,
We sincerely thank those societies who have already paid and would ask those who have not yet done so to check this and to please renew their membership.
It is the only way we can continue to maintain a service to you.
